ESRE Initiatives

Resources for Instructors

Examples of curriculum changes and class activities in engineering courses to educate students about social and environmentally responsible engineering.

Engineering Sustainability Store

The Engineering Sustainability Store is an initiative to reduce the amount of waste generated by Clark School curriculum. Classes such as ENES100, ENME350/351, and Capstone courses require students to purchase materials which are otherwise not used after the semester has elapsed. The store would implement a buy-back program to reuse functioning parts in subsequent semesters.

Capstone Design Awards

Student projects in the capstone design courses are evaluated with respect to their addressing various aspects of sustainability. Engineering solutions that are environmentally- and socially- responsible to important issues are recognized.

Diversity and Outreach: Goal Program
